## Code of Ethics and Transparency Pledge

The Commonwealth of Freedom exists to increase human freedom and democratic power. Our conduct must reflect the society we seek to build. This Code applies to officers, staff, delegates, candidates, volunteers acting in an official capacity, committee members, and vendors or consultants working for the party.

### Our commitments

I pledge to:

1. **Serve the public purpose.** I will place the party’s stated public mission and the wellbeing of the people we serve above personal power, status, access, or financial gain.

2. **Tell the truth.** I will not knowingly publish false information, conceal material facts, misrepresent polling or endorsements, fabricate support, or present speculation as established fact. When the evidence is uncertain, I will say so.

3. **Disclose conflicts.** I will promptly disclose financial, professional, family, organizational, or personal interests that could reasonably affect my judgment. I will recuse myself when impartiality cannot be maintained.

4. **Reject corruption and self-dealing.** I will not use party funds, contacts, confidential information, title, or reputation for unauthorized personal benefit. I will not accept prohibited contributions, bribes, kickbacks, or improper gifts.

5. **Respect every person.** I will not discriminate, harass, threaten, exploit, or retaliate against any person. I will support an environment where disagreement is possible without humiliation, intimidation, or abuse.

6. **Respect democratic process.** I will follow the bylaws, published rules, lawful decisions, and fair procedures of the party. I will not manipulate membership, suppress participation, interfere with a legitimate vote, or use procedural authority to silence good-faith dissent.

7. **Protect privacy.** I will safeguard personal information, donor records, voter data, and confidential complaints. I will not publish a person’s private address, identification number, medical information, or other sensitive data without lawful authority and a compelling public need.

8. **Use technology responsibly.** I will disclose material use of artificial intelligence in official communications when a reasonable person could be misled about whether a human created or reviewed the material. I will not use synthetic media, automated accounts, or data tools to impersonate people, manufacture public support, or deceive voters.

9. **Be accountable.** I will cooperate with lawful ethics reviews, financial reviews, and investigations. I will preserve relevant records and report suspected misconduct through the party’s reporting channel or an appropriate public authority.

10. **Leave the organization stronger.** I will document decisions, share necessary knowledge, respect institutional memory, and support orderly transitions. No office is personal property, and no leader is above review.

## Transparency standards

The party commits to:

- Publish its platform, bylaws, leadership, committee membership, meeting schedule, major resolutions, and required financial filings.
- Publish quarterly summaries of income, expenditures, debts, major vendors, and fundraising costs, subject to lawful privacy protections.
- Disclose donors and contributions at the levels required by law and apply the same disclosure standard to party officers and candidates.
- Maintain an accessible record of major decisions, including the reason for significant endorsements, expenditures, partnerships, and policy changes.
- Identify paid political communications and disclose sponsorship clearly.
- Label polling, projections, allegations, estimates, and unresolved claims accurately.
- Provide a public process for requesting records, correcting factual errors, and reporting ethical concerns.
- Publish annual summaries of complaints received, investigations completed, findings, and corrective actions, while protecting complainants, witnesses, and legally protected information.

## Enforcement

Violations may result in education, correction, public censure, removal from a role, suspension of membership, withdrawal of endorsement, termination of a contract, referral to law enforcement, or other action authorized by the bylaws and applicable law.

No person may be punished for making a good-faith report, participating in an investigation, disagreeing with leadership, or requesting information through the established process. Knowingly false reports and retaliation are themselves violations.
